A big thank you to Ken Fredericks, Chet Vincent and my son George Chase for rushing to Sand Dock Road to beat the bad weather. In 2 1/2 hours we had gathered enough bottles, cans, tires, auto parts, metal, old cast iron sink pieces, lawn chairs, and scrap lumber to more than half fill a dumpster. Royal Carting donated the use of a dumpster for the cleanup. We could not have done the cleanup without the dumpster and greatly appreciate its use. Allan Michelin did an excellent job of securing the dumpster from Royal Carting and getting permission for us to clean the area from the owners. We all agreed that doing the cleanup on a weekday evening works very well. Our weekends are not disturbed, the weather is cooler and the trucks in the area have stopped working for the day. Perhaps next year the weather will be nicer and more of you can join us.
