These photographs were taken in June 1994 in the Depot Hill State Forest.  They document the first confirmed nesting of Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers in Dutchess County.

Carena Pooth discovered the nesting pair on May 15, 1994 and visited the area frequently to monitor progress.

 

 

 A juvenile eagerly anticipates a feeding

             Adult male arrives with food

And feeds the young bird
