Bob Kendall found 3 Redheads during the Christmas Bird Count at Sylvan Lake. Barbara and Allan Michelin went to look for them on 12/17/06 and found 2 Redheads at Redwing Pond in Beekman but none at Sylvan Lake (these could very well have been two of the birds that Bob had seen the day before at Sylvan Lake). If you look for the Redheads, be aware that Canvasbacks were seen on Sylvan Lake on 12/17 also and this species is similar to the Redhead, so take a spotting scope and study the ducks carefully to get an accurate ID.
