During the Christmas Bird Count on 12/16/2006, two Northern Shrikes were found at the old Pace building off Robinson Lane, Wappingers Falls. Another Northern Shrike was found during the count by Chet Vincent's team in LaGrange. The Wappingers shrike was seen again by several club members on 12/17 and Bill Case and Steve Golladay got some nice photos.  Please note that it is on private property. Robert Williams called and left a message at the white house up front that some bird club members would be coming into see the bird on 12/17. If you go it is possible that you would be asked what you are up to. The bird was last reported seen 1/11/07.

Driving Directions:  From Myers Corners Rd. turn at the light for Robinson Lane. Go past the white fence on the left and the next driveway (across from mailbox #205) goes back to the old Pace building.

On Saturday 3/24/07 Robert Williams and Tammie Carey again found a Northern Shrike at the same location.  They reported it to Barbara Michelin, who went there the same day and confirmed the ID.
The bird was last reported seen on 3/31/07.

Please note that this location is private property.  If you go, you may be asked what you are up to. We have been asked to park in the Pace building parking lot, to the left of the building (NOT on the road).
