LeConte's Sparrow
Bashakill, Sullivan County, October 2006

10/22/06...From Barbara Michelin: Ken McDermott reported this evening that a LeConte's sparrow was found today at the Bashakill (in Sullivan County) by John Haas. The directions are: Take Rte. 17 to Exit 113, then Rt. 209 south to Haven Rd. - like we go for our club field trips, turn left onto Haven Rd. and go across the bridge, look for a telephone pole on the right side of the road not far from the bridge. From this telephone pole to the 3rd telephone the bird was seen today. It is secretive and may take a while to come into view.
