Lesser Black-backed Gull
Chelsea (Town of Wappinger), June - July 2002

Dotty Fleury reported a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL in the Hudson River at Chelsea Yacht club. Allan and Barbara Michelin went to see it on July 1. Barbara called Gary & Adrienne Zylkuski and Steve Golladay to also take a look. From what they all saw they believed it was a Lesser Black-backed Gull. Barbara Butler went on July 2 and found a gull that seemed more to be a Great Black-backed Gull with pink legs and much larger than the Herring Gulls nearby.

The bird was on the south side of the Chelsea Yacht Club's property. It stayed around for a week.
