Butler reported: The Saturday (July 8th) field
trip to Greig Farm found Horned Larks, Vesper, Grasshopper,
and Savannah Sparrows, in numbers and with young.
Walk on the farm road that goes between Rockefeller
and Pitcher Lanes. Look in the dirt for the Horned
Larks and find the sparrows perched on tall weeds,
posts or raspberry bushes. Take a scope, if you have
one, for closeup looks.
Please
stay on the farm roads and out of the fields. (Then
stop to pick some blueberries at Greig's u-pick-it
place on Pitcher Lane.) |
