Common Raven / Fish Crow

In late March of 2005, Margie Robinson and Chet Vincent reported seeing a Common Raven's nest at Mills Mansion. Bill Case took his formidable stash of photo equipment over there and came back with a remarkable photo sequence (although it documents a less than happy ending to the nesting story). Bill described the scene on April 4th as follows:

I was at Mills Mansion yesterday (Monday) and there was no activity at the Raven nest. This morning (Tuesday) Fish Crows went to the nest and took an egg with soft stuff stringing from shell. A Raven went to the nest a short time later, ate from the egg,
and removed the shell.  My opinion is that the rain of last weekend did the Raven nesting in and they abandoned the nest.
