Cattle Egret
LaGrange, May 1977

On
May 2, 1977 Otis Waterman found 14 Cattle Egrets at the Cornell Farm on Titusville Road in the Town of LaGrange.  They only stayed one day.  Cattle Egrets are found every few years, normally in farm pastures, with or without cattle, and along roadsides where they forage for insects and small amphibians. Like other herons, they wander considerably.
