On July 8, 2009 an American
White Pelican was found on the Hudson River at Kingston
Point. The next day, the bird turned up at Port Ewen, just
a bit south. The pelican was also seen from Rhinecliff
Landing in Dutchess County, and this sighting was counted
as a Dutchess record.
