Barbara Butler, Carol Fredericks, Tully McElrath, and Chet Vincent studied the bird, along with about 15 beautifully plumaged Green-winged Teal, and agreed on the ID.   Several other people, including Art Jones, Carena Pooth, and Herb Thompson, went up soon afterward and also got a good look at the bird. Many thanks to Steve Golladay for the above photos, which he took on Monday 4/10.
Directions:
Take Rte. 82 north past Buttercup and look for Strever Farm Rd. on the right.  This road makes a U-shaped loop that rejoins 82 just a bit farther north.  If you take the southern turnoff, the pond will be on your left, lower than the road.  Take a spotting scope if you have one.
